Visitors can test their ability to see Wick’s optical illusions in Space Station Impossible, an image of a 3-D space station … or is it? Stand in one area and the three sides don’t match. ![]() Also included are several of the three-dimensional models Wick used to create his imaginative photos, allowing viewers to compare the models to the final photographic works of art. Titled Walter Wick: Hidden Wonders!, the same name as a recent Can You See What I See? book, the exhibition traces Wick’s decades-long career and includes 15 never-before-seen works. Welcome to the New Britain Museum of American Art exhibition celebrating the iconic career of photo illustrator Walter Wick, creator of the award-winning I Spy and Can You See What I See? book series, and an experimenter with studio photography whose imaginative works now span generations. I spy a collection of models and toys, a grouping of videos, fun photos and joys. ![]()
